“Endocannabinoid system”
The Endocannabinoid System is a complex cellular system that communicates and coordinates between different cell types. The EDS plays a role in the regulation of our sleep, memory, appetite, mood, and reproduction. It’s made up of cannabinoid receptors produced by our own body. Originally, scientists thought cannabinoid receptors were only found within the brain and nerves. It’s now been established that these receptors are also spread throughout our bones, skin, blood, organs, immune cells, and gut. Theses receptors are heavily involved in modulating our biological systems so that they stay balanced and healthy while we go about our daily lives.
“Phytocannabinoids”
Phytocannabinoids are plant substances that stimulate our endocannabinoid system when taken. The hemp plant alone contains over 100 different cannabinoids. The most famous of these compounds are cannabidiol (CBD) and Delta-9-tetrahhydrocannabidiol (THC). Research in recent years has shown great promise in these substances and their interactions with our endocannabinoid system.
“Entourage Effect or Full Spectrum”
Studies have demonstrated that the compounds found in the hemp plant operate in a more synergistic process on your endocannabinoid system when taken together instead of isolated. Therefore, full spectrum products (which are products containing the full profile of cannabinoids found in the plant) provide you with a more effective result rather than isolating a single compound by itself. The "entourage effect" is when CBD is taken with the other cannabinoids found in the plant instead of taking it in isolation.
